Q1. What is Digital Printing?

Digital printing is a process where a digital file or image is printed directly onto paper. Xerox 700 Digital Color Press uses low temperature Emulsion Aggregate toner which produces a sharper and more uniform image while using less toner and less electricity.

Q2. What is Offset Printing?

Offset printing is a process where ink is transferred, or offset, from a plate to a rubber blanket then from the blanket to the printing surface. Offset printing is used in combination with the lithographic process where, traditionally, the image on the plate attracts ink from the rollers to transfer to the blanket while the non-printing surface attracts a water-based film which keeps the non-printing area free of ink. Our Direct Imaging Press utilizes a waterless plate technology that eliminates not only the need to waste water, but also eliminates all chemicals related to creating traditional metal plates.

Q3. Could you brag about your equipment a little more?

Sure. Our Xerox 700 produces exceptional image quality with a resolution of 2400x2400dpi while our Presstek DI34 offset press prints at up to 300 lpi. As well, the lower operating temperature of the digital press, and the waterless printing technology of the offset press helps us achieve exceptional results printing on recycled and post-consumer waste paper.
CMYK represents the colours cyan, magenta, yellow and black. This combination is used for digital and process offset printing and offers the largest array of colours. RGB (red, green, blue) is a colour combination used for viewing on computer monitors. Pantone colours are used for spot printing and use a universal code of PMS (Pantone Matching System) colours. Once a PMS is chosen, the ink is mixed to the specific colour and run on an offset press.

Q4. Do you print CMYK (four colour process) or do you use the Pantone Matching System (PMS)?

Both. All of the products and prices listed on the site are based on printing full colour CMYK. Printing four-colour process allows us to minimize wash-ups which is better for both your bottom line and the environment. If you require us to print to a specific PMS please “contact us” to request a custom quote.

Q5. I wish to order a product that does not appear in your list of products. Can I do that?

Certainly. Simply “contact us” to request a custom quote.

Q6. Will you proofread my document before printing to ensure there are no errors?

It is your responsibility to check over spelling, dates, grammar, and other details before sending us your files.

Q7. Are you FSC Certified?

Yes, and all of the paper stocks that we use are FSC certified as well.

Q8. What is FSC?

The Forest Stewardship Council (FSC) is an international certification and labeling system that guarantees that the forest products you purchase come from responsibly managed forests and verified recycled sources. You can learn all about the Forest Stewardship Council at their website www.fsccanada.org
